Who is Loïc Explore?
Loïc Explore is an unstoppable curious soul, a guy who just can’t stay still. Born here, he grew up surrounded by mountains with an insatiable thirst for discovery.
His specialty?
Heading out on adventures, testing, documenting, and above all, sharing. Whether on the trails, behind his camera, or in his travel journals, he fully lives what he loves most: exploring and pushing his limits in extreme environments.
Heading out on adventures, testing, documenting, and above all, sharing. Whether on the trails, behind his camera, or in his travel journals, he fully lives what he loves most: exploring and pushing his limits in extreme environments.
Dragging a sled, riding his bike, or under 52°C in the desert – Loïc always has the same goal in mind: go further. He belongs to those who turn their ideas into real experiences – and that’s exactly what we love at Whitefrontier.
But first, what’s a crafter?
For us, a crafter is more than a passionate person. It’s someone who embodies the Craft Your Life spirit: turning ideas into reality, carving their own path, and doing things with authenticity.
In short, it’s someone who dares to take the leap to live their dreams, become the artisan of their own life, and fully embrace whatever they take on.
And that’s why we team up with them: because they inspire us as much as they inspire our community.
Back to Loïc: what’s his crazy project?
After crossing New Zealand on foot and by bike, roaming the Alps back and forth, and venturing multiple times into extreme environments, Loïc decided to push his mantra even further: connecting these extreme places in one single journey, completely self-sufficient.
A challenge that demands endurance, preparation, mental strength… but most of all, passion. And as always, Loïc isn’t in it for glory: he’s in it for raw experience, learning, and the stories to share afterward.
Where is he now?
The adventure kicked off on January 27, 2025, at the North Cape. For two months, he crossed Scandinavia on skis while dragging two pulkas. After 1,000 km in -20°C average temperatures, he reached Hemavan, Sweden, where his bike was waiting for him to ride across Europe.
Next came a 7,000 km bike journey through 9 countries. Averaging 100 km per day, starting out in ski gear and finishing in shorts and a t-shirt at 45°C. Flat tires (15 in total), countless nights in the tent but Loïc kept going.
After 7 months, nearly always sleeping under canvas except for a few necessary stops, he finally reached Morocco for the 3rd stage of his project.
Today, he’s in southern Morocco, in the desert near Zagora, where he’s been trekking for 20 days.
His homemade cart is giving him trouble: weighing between 100 and 160 kg depending on water supplies, it’s already broken 25 times.
On a call with us, exhausted, he admitted:
“In my whole life, this is the hardest thing I’ve ever done. But I’m determined to make it.”
Police checks are increasing to ensure his safety. And you can’t really blame them: 52°C, and he’s the only one crazy enough to walk there at this time of year.
Mmmh… wouldn’t a fresh craft beer hit the spot, Loïc?
So
Some mind-blowing stats:
8,364 km covered so far
1,000 km skiing – 7,000 km cycling – 364 km walking in the desert (so far)
9 countries crossed
-32°C: lowest temperature
+52°C: highest temperature
~130 kg pulled on average along the way
40 flat tires (so far)
15 liters of water drunk per day currently (and not a single fresh beer!)
5,000–6,000 kcal per day in the north
What’s next?
He still has 360 km (halfway) to go across the desert before reaching Tata, where stage 3 will be behind him. Next, a boat will take him across the Atlantic. Easy, right?
After all those kilometers, Loïc figured crossing an ocean wouldn’t be that complicated. On the other side, the Amazon rainforest awaits – the grand finale of this extraordinary journey. No more freezing cold or deadly lack of water, but instead crushing humidity and a jungle teeming with life… and danger.
But why?
Because that’s his way of living. Loïc explores to understand the world, to test his mental and physical limits, and to show that the human body is far more resilient than we think – as long as the mind stays strong.
He embodies a free spirit, inspiring with his courage, perseverance, and boldness.
And let’s be honest: we love following these crazy projects. They remind us that there’s never just one way to shape your path – and that curiosity might just be the best engine there is.
CONGRATS LOÏC !!
