Every three months, we embark on a new adventure at Whitefrontier with limited edition craftbeers collections.
Each limited edition is an opportunity for us to push our own boundaries and test new ideas. For this range, we've been lucky enough to collaborate with some incredible talents: Blaise Bersinger, the humorist, the Laiterie d'Orsières which supplied us with its buttermilk, the LALLEMAND company via its brand new yeast and Moccador, the Octodur roaster who added a unique touch to our Espresso Martigny.
We also try to renew our packaging - with colorful, creative designs that tell a bit of our story on each can. And let's not forget our Beerclub, which holds a special place for us and brings us even closer to those who share our passion.
This range of limited edition beers thrills us as much as it challenges us...
As for the launches, they're a real source of pride for the team. So, how about sharing the experience live, at the next release, at the Whitefrontier taproom?
While you're waiting to taste them, we suggest you read the letter our brewmaster wrote to Beerclub members:
Hey, Crafter,
Congratulations on being part of our Beer
Club for all of 2024! If you're a new member, you've just given yourself an
awesome pre-Christmas gift (trust me on this one).
This is already my
second year here at White Frontier, or like people here say “Chez
White”, and I’m truly honored to lead this incredible project. Our
goal is to keep raising the bar with every beer, every quarter, and every year.
We want to give
the best in what we do, and I hope our efforts are well expressed in our beers.
Now, let’s dive in
this Q4 of 2024 together!
As always, we've stuck to our quarterly
structure: two hoppy beers, one sour, and a surprise. Now that I’m thinking
about it, they are all collaborations! Each one is unique, reflecting
different projects and personalities—not just partnerships with other
breweries. To me, a collaboration is the merging of two worlds. It's about
learning from someone who has a completely different outlook on the same subject.
That could be two breweries approaching the same beer style in distinct ways,
or two brewers with contrasting methods. It could even go beyond the brewing
industry—like teaming up with a winemaker, a chef, or even a comedian. It’s all
about creative synergy.
Here it’s what I learned from these four
collabs:
Singer. Nope, he’s not actually a singer, but sometimes he does
sing. Blaise Bersinger, a well-known Swiss comedian, was our partner in
this one.
From him, I
learned that if you’re smart enough, you can break the rules and do things your
own way. He even stole my brewing tools and ran around the brewery pretending
to be the head brewer! Love you Bersy hahah
In all
seriousness, Blaise taught me that you don’t always have to follow the
rules—you just have to stay true to yourself. I know you are thinking about
doing something… just do it!
Purple
Cow. This collaboration was inspired by a flash of
creativity: why not use Swiss whey to capture the “fresh cheese” flavor we all
love in a creamy cheesecake? From our cheesemaker partner (Laiterie
d’Orsieres), I learned how incredible our local, unprocessed milk is—and
how, like our beers , real, locally-sourced food is on a whole different
level compared to industrial products.
Espresso
Martigny. This collaboration
wasn’t planned until the last minute, which is why the partner’s logo isn’t on
the label. I needed high-quality coffee to replicate the taste of one of my
favorite cocktails, and someone on our team told me about Café Moccador,
a small roastery near our brewery. Although there was some history between our
companies—an old collaboration that didn’t end well—I wanted to show that we’re
a new team and that we believe in supporting our neighbors. That’s why we
strongly wanted them to be our partner in this project. Their coffee is exceptional
(we’ve been drinking it in production ever since). From this project, I learned
that people’s perceptions can change when you show respect, keep your word, and
maybe throw in a few free beers.
Mostruosa.
What can I say about this collaboration with Lallemand?
Maaaannnn… It was tough! We used their brand-new yeast strain, which meant
stepping into the unknown. And just to make things more challenging, we decided
to use it on a 10.5% TIPA. Why do I never make my life easier? Anyway, the
result was incredible, with rich flavors and great drinkability. This
collaboration taught me that while it’s smart to be cautious with new
ingredients or processes, sometimes you need to go all-in and push your limits
to create something extraordinary. Enjoy Mostruosa—just be careful, she
bites!
A Huge Thanks to the Entire WF Team!
This little gem would have never come out like it is without the huge effort of everyone.
You were there every step of the way, putting in the effort to ensure each beer we crafted met the high
standards we always strive for, in every department. Your teamwork and determination made this
quarter’s lineup truly outstanding, and I’m incredibly proud to be part of this journey with all of you.
Let’s keep raising the bar—together!
